Have you tried protein balls? I’m pretty much obsessed with them. They’re probably my most favorite, easy-to-make snacks. I make a bunch, throw them in some tightly sealed tupperware, and place them in the fridge. They’re really tasty and I can just grab one or two here and there before a workout or on my way to school pick-up to keep my carpool lane patience in check! Now I have found a new favorite in these nutritionally packed No-Bake Matcha and Cocoa Superfood Protein Balls.

If you’ve never had a protein ball before, let me tell you, you’re in for a treat! You can make them with some of your favorite pantry staples and you can make them in most any flavor combination you like. Most protein ball recipes start with your choice of nut butter as a base and incorporate a variety of dried fruit, seeds or even fun additions like chocolate chips. They require zero baking, very little prep time, and the recipes themselves take just minutes to assemble.

My son Quinn and I enjoy making protein balls together on the weekends as a little mommy-son time and absolutely everyone in the house loves them! Even Murph likes watching us make them.

These Matcha and Cocoa Protein Balls are extra special because they’ve got the health benefits of two amazing superfoods, matcha and cacao, mixed right in.

Matcha is high in antioxidants, protects the liver, boosts brain function, promotes heart health, and has natural metabolism-boosting power to help you lose weight. Cacao, the other main ingredient, is affectionately called, the superfood of all superfoods. It is known to help lower high blood pressure, reduce heart attack and stroke risk, increase blood flow to your brain, improve symptoms of Type II Diabetes, and more.

Add in the health benefits of chia seeds with their incredible antioxidants, fiber, protein, and Omega-3 fatty acids and you’ve got a delicious, power-packed snack. Everything you consume is a chance to build your health. Why not make it taste good too? These Matcha and Cocoa Protein Balls are a great place to start!
